This web-based application uses database which allows you to search its contents and display the results as georeferenced points on the Google Maps interface. You can perform three types of searches:
Search by parasite Using this type of search, the program will display all the data related to the selected parasite taxa, regardless the host. Search by host Using this type of search, the program will display all the data related to the host taxa, regardless the parasite. Search by parasite and host Using this type of search, the program will display all the data related to the selected parasite taxa occuring on the selected host taxa.
Visualizing the results The results will be displayed as a map, with red icons (exact locations) or blue (approximate locations). Using the Google Maps Tools you can always zoom in or out your map or you can change the view style (map, sattelite etc). On the left side of the map there is the summary of your searcg query. By clicking on the hyperkinked value (i.e. 12 in the example below) you will be redirected to a tabular view of your results with all the details from the database (see second image below). The tabular display allows the display of 10 entires per screen. You can alwasy move forward or back, using the navigation tools from the bottom. Details of the references used can be accessed by clicking on the hyperlinked references in the right collumn (i.e. "Reference"
